Becoming a writer was never in the plans. Although I was an avid poet in the sixth grade, publishing books is beyond my wildest dreams. It all began when I had my favorite son. (don’t worry so far I only have one). Fatherhood as a Christian and now a pastor, help me become very deliberate about the influences I exposed my son to. At the age of four, I started praying that he would come to know Jesus at an early age. Unfortunately Reading the Bible to a four-year-old came with a lot of explanations. That’s why Oliver was born. I could go on and on about myself, although that is probably my least favorite thing to do. I was born in Haiti. Came to the United States when I was 5 years old. I lived in several cities up and down the East Coast from Massachusetts to Florida. My family found a home for many years in Pleasantville New Jersey, where my parents bought our first home. On McKinley Avenue nonetheless. I went to a couple of different high schools and a couple of different colleges lastly Guilford technical community college in High Point North Carolina. I moved around a lot. I’ve had an amazing and interesting career path, everything from selling newspapers on the Ocean City boardwalk at the age of 14, to now my 15yr tenure in photography at Lifetouch National School Studios. At the end of the day, I am a regular guy. I’m committed to my faith, and my family. I have a love for children, and love for communities, love for people. I’m hoping that Oliver and his adventures will help you explain those complicated concepts of religion to ones you love. If you still have a hard time, invite me to do it.
